The Siege
Armies would siege a castle for many different reasons-to gain land, to take revenge, or maybe while fighting a war for their church.
During a siege, the attackers would surround the castle, cutting off supply and communication lines. The easiest way to take over the castle was to have the defenders surrender.
When they wouldn't surrender, the attacking army would attack with many different types of weapons.
